SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL — The distinctive din rising from the city streets sounds like a groan or an angry whir, nearly drowning out the blaring car horns that dominate in other big cities.
Astride the motorbikes that fill the air with noise and fumes are the growing group of delivery drivers known as motoboys. They zoom between lanes and dart around cars, cutting through congestion to speed deliveries in a city where many try to stay off the streets fearing the traffic and crime.
